Welcome to WelBridge. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client", "you", or "your") and WelBridge, ("WelBridge", "we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of our website and services.

By accessing our website or engaging our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of our services immediately.

1. About Our Services

WelBridge provides relocation assistance services for individuals seeking to establish their presence in Portugal. Our services include, but are not limited to:

  • NIF (Tax Identification Number) registration assistance
  • NISS (Social Security Number) application support
  • Portuguese bank account opening facilitation
  • Visa application guidance and documentation review (D7, D2, Digital Nomad, and others)
  • Fiscal representation services
  • General relocation consulting

The information provided through our services is intended solely for informational purposes and should not be construed as legal, tax, or financial advice. We recommend consulting with qualified professionals for advice specific to your individual circumstances.

2. Our Role as Intermediary

WelBridge is not a law firm, accounting firm, bank, or financial institution. We operate as an intermediary service, facilitating connections between our clients and licensed Portuguese professionals, including lawyers, accountants, and financial advisors who are duly accredited by their respective professional bodies.

By engaging our services, you acknowledge and understand that:

  • The actual legal, tax, or banking services are performed by independent licensed professionals
  • WelBridge coordinates, manages, and streamlines the process on your behalf
  • Final decisions regarding applications (visas, bank accounts, etc.) rest solely with the relevant Portuguese authorities or institutions
  • We cannot guarantee approval of any application, as these decisions are made by third parties beyond our control

3. Eligibility Requirements

To use our services, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information as required for service delivery
  • Not be prohibited from receiving services under applicable laws

We reserve the right to refuse service, cancel orders, or terminate client relationships at our sole discretion, including but not limited to cases involving:

  • Failed identity verification
  • Incomplete, fraudulent, or falsified documentation
  • Violations of these Terms
  • Suspected illegal activity or money laundering concerns
  • Abusive behaviour towards our staff or partners

4. Service Descriptions & Specific Terms

NIF Registration Service

WelBridge facilitates the acquisition of your Portuguese Tax Identification Number (NIF) by coordinating with accredited Portuguese legal representatives on your behalf.

Standard Service €45
Express Service €67

Delivery: Standard service: 10 business days. Express service: 5-7 business days.

Fiscal Representation: Non-EU residents require a fiscal representative in Portugal. First year of fiscal representation is included. Annual renewal: €67/year.

NISS Registration Service

WelBridge assists with obtaining your Portuguese Social Security Identification Number (NISS), guiding you through the current requirements established by Segurança Social.

Processing Time ~8 weeks

Important: Due to requirements implemented in July 2024, NISS applications require proof of employment status and proof of residence permit application. Clients must ensure they meet these requirements before engaging our service.

Bank Account Opening Assistance

WelBridge facilitates the process of opening a Portuguese personal bank account through coordination with licensed Portuguese attorneys who liaise with partner banking institutions.

Disclaimer: The final decision to approve a bank account rests solely with the banking institution. WelBridge cannot guarantee account approval. Service fees do not include initial deposit requirements or ongoing bank fees.

Visa Application Assistance

WelBridge provides comprehensive support for Portuguese visa applications, including D7 (Passive Income), D2 (Entrepreneur), D8 (Digital Nomad), and other visa categories.

Our visa services range from document review to full application submission, depending on the service agreed with the client:

  • Document checklist preparation and verification
  • Application dossier review by licensed Portuguese lawyers
  • Guidance throughout the application process
  • Full visa submission handling (if contracted)
  • Communication support with relevant authorities

Pricing: Visa assistance fees vary depending on the scope of service requested. A detailed quote will be provided upon consultation.

Disclaimer: Visa approval decisions are made solely by Portuguese consular authorities and AIMA. WelBridge cannot guarantee visa approval. We provide guidance and support but do not have influence over government decisions.

Fiscal Representation

For non-EU residents, WelBridge provides ongoing fiscal representation services as required by Portuguese tax law.

5. Payments & Fees

Accepted Payment Methods

We accept payments through our secure payment processor. Accepted methods include:

  • Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
  • Debit cards
  • Bank transfer (for select services)

Pricing

All prices displayed on our website are in Euros (€) and include our service fees as described. Prices are subject to change without notice; however, any price changes will not affect orders already confirmed and paid.

Payment Processing

Full payment is required at the time of order unless otherwise specified. Service delivery commences upon payment confirmation and receipt of all required documentation from the client.

Currency Conversion

If paying in a currency other than Euros, your financial institution may apply currency conversion fees or foreign transaction fees. These charges are determined by your payment provider and are not included in our service pricing.

6. Refund & Cancellation Policy

General Cancellation Terms

  • Within 24 hours of order: Full refund of all fees paid
  • After 24 hours, before processing begins: Full refund minus administrative fee (€15)
  • After processing has commenced: Partial refund may be available depending on service stage
  • After service completion: No refund available

Service-Specific Refund Terms

NIF Service

If we are unable to obtain your NIF due to our error or oversight, you are entitled to a full refund. Refunds are not available if failure results from incomplete or inaccurate documentation provided by the client.

NISS Service

If your NISS application is rejected due to factors within our control, we will either resubmit your application at no additional cost or provide a partial refund. Rejections due to client documentation issues or failure to meet Portuguese government requirements are not eligible for refund.

Bank Account Service

In the event of bank refusal, clients are entitled to a 50% refund (€125). No refund is available if refusal results from client-provided false or incomplete information.

Visa Assistance

Cancellation before document submission: 100% refund. After document submission to our legal team: 50% refund. After submission to consular authorities: No refund available. Visa refusals by authorities do not qualify for refunds as the decision rests with government bodies.

Refund Processing

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 15 business days. Refund amounts may be reduced if promotional discount codes were applied to the original purchase.

7. Client Responsibilities

By engaging our services, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information: All personal details, documents, and information submitted must be truthful, accurate, current, and complete
  • Submit valid documents: All documents must be genuine, legally valid, and obtained through proper channels
  • Respond promptly: Timely responses to our requests for information or documentation are essential to meet processing deadlines
  • Attend required appointments: If your application requires biometric appointments, consulate visits, or interviews, you are responsible for attending as scheduled
  • Maintain communication: Keep us informed of any changes to your contact details or circumstances that may affect your application
  • Comply with laws: You must comply with all applicable Portuguese and international laws throughout the process

Failure to fulfil these responsibilities may result in delays, application rejection, or termination of services without refund.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on the WelBridge website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, and design elements, is the property of WelBridge or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or distribute our content without express written permission
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works from our materials
  • Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without authorisation
  • Reverse engineer any software or technology used in our services

Limited, non-commercial personal use of our content for informational purposes is permitted, provided proper attribution is given.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • WelBridge provides services on an "as is" and "as available" basis
  • We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the outcome of any application or process
  • We are not liable for decisions made by government authorities, banks, or other third-party institutions
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by external factors beyond our reasonable control
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service in question

WelBridge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of our services.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WelBridge, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of our services
  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Any false or misleading information you provide

10. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection, use, and protection of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms.

By using our services, you consent to:

  • The collection and processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy
  • The sharing of your information with licensed professionals necessary to deliver our services
  • The transfer of your data to Portuguese authorities and institutions as required for your applications
  • Electronic communications regarding your services and account

We process data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Portuguese data protection laws.

11. Modifications to Terms & Services

WelBridge reserves the right to:

  • Modify these Terms at any time, with changes effective upon posting to our website
  • Update our service offerings, pricing, and availability without prior notice
  • Discontinue any service at our discretion

For significant changes affecting existing clients, we will provide notice via email to the address associated with your account. Your continued use of our services after any modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Portugal. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lisbon, Portugal.

If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, you retain any mandatory protections provided by the laws of your country of residence. You may also have access to the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform for alternative dispute resolution.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any service-specific agreements, constitute the entire agreement between you and WelBridge regarding your use of our services.
